The team

EY’s Sector Insights team comprises market‑facing sector experts across 18 sectors and shapes EY’s differentiated perspectives on the future of each sector. The team equips EY’s 400 000 professionals to have insightful client conversations and drive growth. Our compelling insights help EY win in the market by creating new client opportunities, strengthening relationships, and positioning EY’s brand through distinctive thought leadership.

The opportunity

As an Insurance Insights Lead Analyst at EY, you will lead the Insights team and program for one of EY’s 18 sectors. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that EY has a differentiated, distinctive perspective on client issues within the Insurance sector. You will develop high‑impact points of view, activate them with clients, and position EY as a comprehensive advisor on strategy, transactions, and transformation to the C‑suite.

Recognized as both an insurance expert and strategic advisor, you will frame the signature insight landscape and analysis requirements for Insurance executive leadership, agreeing on priorities with the Global Insurance Sector Board.

Your key responsibilities
  • Executive impact: engage with and challenge senior stakeholders, providing commercial and provocative perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the insurance sector. Establish strong internal and external relationships, participate in client meetings, round tables, events, and act as a media spokesperson.
  • Strategic leadership: establish the insights strategy for the insurance sector, drive the development and co‑creation of insights beyond publicly available information, and ensure an outcome‑focused approach to creating and activating external thought leadership.
  • Analytical responsibilities: combine multiple perspectives and sources to develop compelling points of view, identify issues and trends that translate into key market‑facing initiatives, and use qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies.
  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing: work closely with insights leadership and other analysts to support insurance leadership and senior stakeholders, share best practices, and contribute to the development of core products and services to drive excellence and consistency across insights.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Outstanding executive‑level presentation skills with a track record of challenging and shaping perspectives of senior insurance clients and internal decision‑makers.
  • Demonstrated senior‑level experience in a fast‑moving, client‑driven environment.
  • Recognized insurance‑insight leadership with >=5 years of insurance‑specific research and analysis activity.
  • Collaborative mindset able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently in a global, multicultural, virtual environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information, review data inputs, and provide analytic insights.
  • Succinct and structured oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
What we look for

We seek individuals who are curious, strategic thinkers with a real‑world commercial perspective driven by an understanding of client experiences and broader marketplace drivers. Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience in a professional services or equivalent environment, a collaborative mindset, outstanding executive presence, storytelling ability, and the capability to engage with clients at the C‑suite level. Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine multiple perspectives and sources to develop compelling points of view are crucial.
