Events & Marketing Coordinator - Position Description

The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce seeks a full-time Events & Marketing Coordinator to support the execution of memorable programs in partnership with local businesses, and to amplify the neighborhood's marketing and communications initiatives. This position reports to the Events & Marketing Director. Pay is $46,, commensurate with experience, with a projected workload of 40 hours per week.

• Support the Chamber’s Community Events, including:
• Audit/maintain organizational checklists for event planning
• Acquire licensing needed for events, including sidewalk permits & liquor licenses
• Assist with tracking event sponsor benefits
• Audit event pages on Squarespace & Eventbrite
• Add events to Choose Chicago calendar & other city-wide marketing calendars
• Support the Chamber’s Marketing efforts, including:
• Run business Sunday Spotlights social media program
• Run business spotlight social media programs for Black History Month, Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc.
• Create & send weekly Business Bulletin and Happenings newsletters to the neighborhood and business communities
• Create and send weekly Farmers Market newsletters June-October
• Run community events calendar - receive & vet submissions, add listings to website
• Create event webpages on Squarespace & Eventbrite
• Support the Chamber’s Communications efforts, including:
• Monitor company information email inbox
• Keep website up to date with upcoming events and other relevant information
• Maintain regular communication with businesses about upcoming events, membership benefits, etc.

  Understands event planning and project management, including how to manage volunteers, vendors, sponsors and partners
• Marketing Strategies

  Understands how to run successful marketing campaigns, specifically how to utilize social media marketing for maximum reach
• Sponsorship/Fundraising
  :
  Understands how to increase revenue by creating strong sponsorship packages and delivering on sponsor benefits
• Farmers Markets
  :
  Understands rules related to the market, how to work with farmers and what makes a market successful

• 1+ years experience in marketing, social media management, event management, fundraising, or another related field
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google products
• Must be proficient with Social Media platforms, strategy, content creation & analytics
• Familiarity with Graphic Design platforms - Canva, etc.
