CNC Operator Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating CNC machines, mills, and robots. Your duties will include performing tool and insert changes, checking parts for conformance to blueprints, and monitoring machine performance. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Additionally, you will perform basic maintenance on CNC machines and work closely with supervisors, programmers, and support teams to resolve any issues.
Responsibilities- Operate CNC machines, mills, and robots.
- Perform tool and insert changes.
- Check parts for conformance to blueprints.
- Monitor and adjust machine performance as needed.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
- Perform basic maintenance on CNC machines.
- Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, and verbal/written instructions.
- Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and support teams to resolve problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in a precision machining environment or CNC training.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiency in handling basic CNC machining operations, including changing inserts and making offsets.
- Ability to use common shop measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers.
- Experience with horizontal lathe or mill setup.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Okuma or Nakamura lathes or mills.
- Familiarity with Fanuc Robodrills and Universal Robots.
- Experience with Fanuc robots.
We offer a competitive starting pay rate with a $4.50 second shift differential. Enjoy a weekly attendance bonus of $1.25 per hour and opportunities for overtime. WorkEnvironment
Our facility is an extremely clean, large three-floor environment. At the end of each shift, employees are responsible for cleaning their work area. You will be working in a family-owned company that has been established for 65 years, with over 200 employees. You will primarily work with brass (90%) and will be trained in different finishes for various product lines.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
