Hood Container is looking for skilled Forklift Operator to join our high-performing team in Chicago. If you're safety-driven, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, this is your chance to grow with a national leader in sustainable packaging.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure inventory accuracy by verifying materials entering and leaving the warehouse.
- Keep the warehouse and dock area clean, organized, and safe.
- Work closely with Shipping & Receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.
- Partner with Production Planning to ensure materials are available for upcoming orders.
- Pull and prepare jobs for the next shift's production run.
- Quickly fulfill material replenishment requests to avoid production delays.
- Handle and load scrap materials efficiently.
- Operate and maintain a forklift safely to prevent damage to products, equipment, and personnel.
- Inspect propane cylinders to ensure they are stored properly and filled as required.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience: At least 3 years of warehousing and inventory control experience.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency, strong math skills, and attention to detail.
