Research And Development Technician

Overview

Amylu Foods is hiring a Research and Development Technician to join our team. This role would be during our first shift (6:00am – 3:00pm) and be located at our company headquarters at the following location:

1400 W 44th St Chicago, IL 60609

The Research and Development Technician will be involved in managing and executing projects for product development and formulation.

Additional responsibilities include running batch tests, working on scaling up existing products/processes, as well as commercializing products and being involved in the process improvement of existing products.

  D.
• Ability to run the following meat processing equipment:
  Grinder, Mixers, Vemag Stuffer, Smokehouses, Spiral Oven, Freezer, Packaging Machines
• Communicate and coordinate with plant employees to gather raw materials and work on equipment in plant schedules.
• Gather information during testing: collect data points, document, and input in the computer.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in cooked meat or two (2) years of experience in other cooked/processed meat products
• Experience with Microsoft Office products

• Grammar and writing skills.
• Organized and detail oriented with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of plant environment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Spanish-speaking

• Able to work in a facility with varying temperatures (34˚ F to 95˚
  
  F) for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in wet and cold environments for prolonged periods of time
• Sense of smell and taste

• Usual plant environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of machinery and equipment.
• Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
• The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to equipment and machinery use.
• Test kitchen, Plant Environment and Office; desk work, cooking, cleaning

Base Salary: $18.00/hr
