Located in Chicago, IL at 4555 W Armitage Avenue. We are looking for an experienced slitter operator. Our ideal candidate is very detail-oriented and takes pride in producing quality work and exceeding customer expectations!

The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating machinery that slits stainless steel materials to customer specifications.

• Operate edging/skiving equipment to create square, deburred, round and other custom edges
• Prepare stainless steel materials to be processed
• Set-up machine for required processing functions
• Accurately process material per instructions and to customer specifications
• Accurately record and document records of production and inspection
• Operate forklift, overhead crane and welding equipment
• Ensure equipment and working area are maintained in a clean and organized manner
• Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Train others as required

• Previous machine operator and set-up experience, preferably steel slitter operation
• Experience/training in material handling functions
• Ability to demonstrate basic proficiency levels in reading and math
• High school diploma/GED, preferred
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Experience using micrometers
