Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
High Format, the Great Lakes region’s leading manufacturer of wet-cast concrete landscape products, located in East Troy, is seeking a Lead Industrial Technician to help build, maintain, and improve our production operations!
This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, leading a team, and working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
The individual we want on our team likes to get their hands dirty, and has a knack for troubleshooting and fixing industrial machinery. You'll be responsible for identifying issues with equipment, and for organizing and executing the solutions. Keep the line running. Lead the crew that makes it happen!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform preventive and general maintenance on equipment as defined by OEM manual or assigned by supervisor.
- Perform maintenance skills, including but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
- Conduct start-up meetings that effectively communicate daily goals and any high priority issues
- Monitor time and attendance of maintenance personnel, verifying time cards and approving time off requests.
- Lead by example, coach others on procedure, team work, S.H.A.R.P. core values, and exemplify G.R.E.A.T. leadership.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment within the department to quickly and efficiently repair any equipment breakdowns and/or issues.
- Troubleshoot machine or equipment malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with other maintenance team members and operators, at times delegating responsibility to diagnose problems and/or to repair machines.
- Develop instruction and preventive maintenance schedules that meet, or exceed, manufacturing requirements.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as grinders, drills, welders, and saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Work and communicate with Engineers to assist in design and construction of new equipment.
Certifications:
- Forklift license (in house certification available)
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with proven ability to lead new initiatives
- Two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
- Accurate, thorough, and always striving to improve
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills, with ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other drawings
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
