Materials Manager

Join a top manufacturer in the automotive industry. They are seeking a high-performing Materials Manager to join their dynamic team in Chicago.

• Status:
  Full-time, onsite

• Oversee all materials planning, procurement, and inventory control functions to ensure uninterrupted production and optimal supply chain efficiency in accordance with APICS best practices.
• Develop and execute MRP/ERP-driven materials strategies that align with CPIM and CPM standards for cost control, lead time reduction, and just-in-time delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance to support continuous improvement and quality compliance in line with ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams in demand forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling to meet production targets while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Implement lean inventory systems, standardize processes, and train staff in effective materials management and supply chain optimization.

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including management
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Preferred: CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), or APP (Associate Professional in Supply Chain Management)
• Experience with Bailed Material Operation
• Experience with JIT (Just-in-Time) manufacturing
