Job Description- Drive and operate forklifts to move materials throughout designated locations.
- Coordinate with departments to position materials in necessary areas.
- Move materials from and to the materials center and shipping warehouse.
- Stack/unstack materials for storage and shipping.
- Present and remove materials from work areas.
- Assist trailers to provide materials for shipping and processing.
- Load and unload truck trailers.
- Place items onto the forklift.
- Ensure material is stored based on current and future needs.
- Work in a warehouse, construction site, or retail environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot when forklifts malfunction.
- Handle sending and receiving duties on the loading dock.
- Mark and scan materials for inventory control.
- Communicate with forklift drivers and workers to adjust movements.
- Apply acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks.
- Complete semi‑routine assignments, with occasional deviation from standard practice.
- Maintain competence beyond entry level.
- Work independently once tasks for the day are assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiar with forklift operation.
- Understand facility logistics to place items correctly.
- Strong communication skills to aid workflow and safety.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Work hours may require late‑night or early‑morning shifts.
- Preferred: certified forklift driver.
- Comply with quality, PPE requirements, safety policies and procedures.
- Repetitive or short‑cycle tasks with limited opportunity for diversion.
- Effective under stress, dealing with dangerous circumstances.
- Interpersonal relationships in job situations beyond instruction.
- Make judgments and decisions based on factual or objective criteria.
- Require strength to control machinery and lift heavy items.
- Requirements for near and far visual acuity, depth perception, and accommodation.
- Ability to climb under or on top of machinery, trucks, storage racks, etc.
- Job may be performed outdoors with exposure to weather.
- Noise intensity level (4 Loud) with manufacturing equipment and traffic.
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts with risk of bodily injury.
- Collision risk with machinery, persons, product stacks, or other forklifts.
- Exposure to outdoor atmospheric conditions.
The payrate is $22.03/hour plus $0.50 shift differential.
