Powerhouse Operator

Starting hourly pay rate $24.05 - $31.25 per hour

The starting hourly pay rate for this role is $24.05 and can rise to $31.25 per hour based on your qualifications and experience.

Working hours are on a 12‑hour shift rotation: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.

• Operate the boiler and work with steam.
• Operate the turbine and work with high‑voltage electricity.
• Operate the gas compressor and work with high‑pressure natural gas.
• Monitor and operate fire protection system, including fire pump.
• Monitor multiple water supplies and make adjustments as needed.
• Operate plant water‑softening systems.
• Operate plant wastewater treatment plant.

• Ability to work safely.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform water testing.
• Attention to detail with the ability to react quickly and safely in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Monitor several data systems within the area.
• Person will be required to be trained in CPR, first aid, AED, BBP.
• Will be required to make frequent rounds of the entire plant in all weather conditions.
• Will need basic mechanical abilities.
• Will be required to work in confined spaces.
• Will be required to be trained and act as a Hazwoper Level 2 responder.
