Shift Leader – Mondelēz International

As a Shift Leader, you’re an internal technical master at the line level, ensuring the line team achieves sustainable and improved business results on the 6‑stars model. You model priority setting, manage the plan‑do‑check‑adjust cycle, and provide coaching and training for your team.

Key Contributions

You will build technical mastery to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale targets. You will understand losses in your area and take proactive action to eliminate them, using autonomous and progressive maintenance standards to maintain equipment and support new product development. You will ensure safety processes are observed (safety maps, lock‑out/tag‑out, behavior observation system, root‑cause analysis), quality assurance activities achieve zero harm and 100% good‑quality products, and resources are properly allocated and available during the shift.

You will lead shutdown maintenance, root‑cause analysis, stop‑loss reduction, and breakdown elimination.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience with autonomous maintenance (AM) Step 4 and progressive maintenance (PM) Step 3 systems.
  • Ability to maintain equipment at basic conditions independently, including executing AM & PM standards.
  • Knowledge of total productive maintenance and Six Sigma, including qualification of AM steps 5‑6 and PM step 3.
  • Leadership of line teams and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations tactfully.
  • Experience influencing people in a union environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with strong attention to detail.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  • Prevent incidents and maintain a ‘zero‑safety incidents’ mindset and culture.
  • Enforce safety rules and keep the work environment clean, organized, and hazard‑free.
  • Promote 5 S practices and standard visual management on the line.
  • Ensure ‘zero‑quality incidents’ mindset; monitor adherence to quality standards and take immediate action on non‑conformances.
  • Complete all quality checks, documentation, and traceability protocols correctly.
  • Produce required volumes on time against the production plan.
  • Input and validate shift performance data in ERP, MES or production dashboards.
  • Respond promptly to line stoppages, quality issues, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Improve cost over time through systematic loss elimination and root‑cause analysis.
  • Build and grow high‑performing teams; coach and develop line team members.
  • Plan succession and team backup.
  • Own execution of all safe‑work procedures in the line during the shift.
  • Set priority through daily management system and effectively escale issues.

Education / Certifications
  • High school diploma or technical qualification required; associate degree or vocational certification preferred.
  • 2–3 years in a current role with readiness to promote and proven people‑leadership skills.
  • 3+ years of production experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a team‑lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of production line operations, quality checks, and safety requirements.
Work Schedule
  • Flexibility required to work any shift.
Salary and Benefits

The base salary range is $77,600 to $106,700, depending on experience, skills, education, and location. The position also offers a highly competitive bonus program with potential for over‑achievement based on performance and company results.
