Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Designer to support the design, documentation, and coordination of low-voltage systems for commercial, institutional, and enterprise projects. The ideal candidate has experience in structured cabling, security, audio-visual, and communication systems design within a multidisciplinary engineering or consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and document low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, data networks, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, audio-visual, and unified communication systems.
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for low-voltage systems in coordination with project teams.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and architectural teams to ensure integration of low-voltage systems into overall building infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to validate system requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and system handover.
- Review and specify vendor products and solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and budgets.
- Maintain and update design standards, templates, and best practices for low-voltage systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system design issues during design, installation, and operational phases.
- Stay current with emerging low-voltage technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–7+ years of experience designing low-voltage systems in MEP, AV, or ICT environments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), network protocols, and low-voltage system design.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and AV systems.
- Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, CTS, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level networks, mission-critical environments, or data centers.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and standards (LEED, WELL) is a plus.
