Description

  • Will develop and implement accounting practices and procedures.
  • Will provide and interpret data from accounting records and coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs.
  • Will oversee the management of such processes as fixed assets, leases, intercompany cross charges, new accounting rules, restructuring programs, and accounting for joint ventures, among others.
  • This role may also include people management responsibilities.
  • Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our AER policies.
  • Manage elements of the monthly accounting close process including ensuring accurate and timely U.S. GAAP/local GAAP reporting and the timeliness and integrity of local financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and KPIs.
  • Also provide insights into balance sheet movements and cash flow and support implementation of process change projects.
  • Lead projects to drive harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working on AER processes and systems such as SAP, SLAN, and FIT/HFM reporting tools, building a mindset of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Also lead implementation efforts on new accounting guidance.
  • Build a high-performing Accounting and External Reporting (AER) team.
  • Depending on the nature of the role, you may need to recruit, develop talent across AER, and drive our AER talent agenda globally.
Qualifications
  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS or local GAAP close processes and financial reporting systems.
  • Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting.
  • General knowledge of tax laws and indirect and direct tax.
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and an understanding of our business and finance beyond accounting and external reporting scope.
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills.
  • Experience working as a finance leader managing cross‑functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results.
  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values and policies and external regulations.

401(k) Plan: The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus.

It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
