Director of Accounting

We have partnered with a growing financial services company seeking an Accounting Director to lead and scale the accounting function. With continued national expansion through strategic acquisitions, this is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CFO.

The Accounting Director will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including:

• Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Managing technical accounting matters (business combinations, leases, equity compensation)
• Overseeing financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Managing the external audit process and auditor relationships
• Supporting acquisition accounting and post-close integration
• Enhancing systems, processes, and internal controls to support growth
• Partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives

This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment.

• CPA required
• 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• A combination of Big 4 public accounting and industry leadership is strongly preferred
• Experience with in a large, highly acquisitive RIA, wealth management firm, or PE-backed professional services environment strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including business combinations, lease accounting, and equity compensation
• Proven experience managing external audits and complex close processes
• ERP experience required (Workday or similar systems preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, evolving growth environment
