Materials Manager

Pettis Search Partners is confidentially retained to identify an experienced Materials Manager to play a critical leadership role within a high-volume manufacturing operation. This position carries direct responsibility for inventory accuracy, cycle count execution, material reconciliation, and team leadership, and is ideal for a hands‑on, detail‑driven materials leader who thrives in a high accountability, fast‑paced Tier 1 automotive environment.

• Team leadership and development for the materials group, including coaching and performance management
• Materials planning to support production schedules, transportation coordination, and customer delivery requirements
• Supplier oversight including performance tracking and support for program launch activities
• Inventory management including procurement of components, cycle count processes, and maintaining accuracy
• Systems and reporting for all materials activities, ensuring timely and accurate data
• Continuous improvement efforts across materials flow, inventory health, and cost reduction
• KOI metric ownership to support plant performance
• Packaging and logistics management including routing, premium freight mitigation, and compliance with customer packaging standards
• Maintenance of PFEP including Min Max levels across all inventory locations
• Compliance with internal procedures and documentation standards

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
• Five or more years of materials management leadership in automotive or comparable manufacturing
• Ten or more years of progressive experience in owned and bailed material operations
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Supply chain certifications are a plus (CPIM, CPM, APP)
• Ability to handle confidential information and work cross functionally
