Organizational Overview
National Covenant Properties (NCP) is a $400 million church extension fund, which operates as a financial ministry affiliate of The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) denomination. NCP provides investment products to members of Covenant churches and offers lending and real estate services solutions to local congregations and affiliated organizations as they seek to expand their facilities and ministries. NCP is looking to add a new position of Chief Lending Officer to lead the underwriting, lending, loan portfolio management and the real estate consulting initiatives to churches and other organizations affiliated with The Evangelical Covenant Church.

The Chief Lending Officer reports directly to the President of NCP and will partner with the executive management team to develop and implement the appropriate lending products and services.
The Chief Lending Officer will lead and mentor the lending and real estate services team, oversee the lending business development, the underwriting and credit analysis of loan applications, and the loan portfolio risk profile and loan management efforts of NCP.
A qualified candidate will be a seasoned member of the executive team advancing NCP’s mission within the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors and the President of NCP. Critical and essential responsibilities of this role include:
- Engage with NCP President, the Relationship Management Team, regional Conference leadership, as well as CEOs and CFOs of affiliated Covenant entities on financial matters relating to real estate transactions and NCP financing.
- Participate in the development of the organization’s strategic plans and implementation of resulting initiatives and other assignments from the President of NCP.
- Collaborate with the President of NCP to align lending activities with the organization’s broader strategic goals.
- Serve as an advisor to the Board of Directors of NCP.
- Coach, lead, motivate, and mentor the relationship management team, fostering a positive environment and ensuring a customer centric, high standard of service delivery while achieving the mission and loan growth, and loan quality objectives of NCP.
- Actively participate in strategic relationship management with existing and prospective constituents.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on approvals, strategy development, implementation, and/or concept development that improves or enhances NCP’s mission and positioning.
- Participate in marketing and communication efforts that increase awareness and engagement of church constituency with NCP investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with the executive management on developing and implementing sound and pertinent IT, technological, and security programs and processes, cybersecurity initiatives, and internal controls.
- Provide guidance to congregations and individuals on the developments and preparation of NCP loan application packets. Gather, analyze, and interpret financial information for NCP leadership and key constituencies.
- Deliver consultation to churches and their leadership on facility design, location searches, and property developments, including the review of leases, purchase or sale agreements, or other real estate contracts.
- Monitor and advise on real estate trends and market analysis within the 11 regions NCP provides its services.
- Formulate reports, proposals, and additional presentations, as warranted, to facilitate engagement of stakeholders.
- Engage in a professional, hospitable, and courteous manner in NCP’s electronic, phone, and in-person communication.
