The Senior Interior Designer is a proactive, highly organized leader who takes charge of the design development and execution of our most prestigious and complex projects. Acting as a team lead, this individual manages a dedicated team while also serving as the firm’s Technical Gatekeeper. The ideal candidate is a "standard-bearer" for professional excellence, possessing the authority to lead high-level clients and the technical expertise to ensure firm-wide quality control.

• Team Management: Lead and manage the daily workflows of the Junior Designers and Assistants assigned to your specific project team, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Operational & Financial Accountability: Own the project schedule for your team; hold your team accountable for deadline adherence and billing efficiency through strategic delegation.
• Time Billing: Perform first-round reviews of your team’s time-billing to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment with project fee structures.
• Mentorship: Provide critical, constructive feedback and deliver ongoing mentorship essential to the professional growth of the design staff within your team and the broader studio.
• Principle: Collaborate directly with the Principal and Owner on specialized tasks as needed to ensure firm-wide design standards and brand vision are consistently maintained across all projects. Accountable to Principle.
• Proactive Reporting: Maintain total transparency with the Principal on all project developments, particularly during periods of travel or off-site engagements.
• Self-Directed Updates: Assume full responsibility for providing consistent, comprehensive project status reports without prompting. This includes surfacing critical milestones, potential bottlenecks, and client sentiment to ensure the Principal remains fully informed on all firm activity regardless of their physical location.
• Communication Continuity: Establish a reliable cadence of updates to bridge the gap between studio operations and the Principal’s schedule.
• Quality Assurance: Proactively vet and manage the firm’s vendor network, ensuring all partners meet high-level performance standards and provide the white-glove service required for our clientele.

• Technical Gatekeeper: Serve as the first round of review and approval for all firm-wide technical drawings, elevations, floor plans, and construction schedules to ensure they meet JLI standards before being finalized.
• Technical Excellence: Enforce a thorough knowledge of construction sets and required documentation across the firm; oversee the technical execution of projects from conception through installation.
• Preemptive Problem Solving: Identify potential project roadblocks across the firm’s portfolio and devise high-level solutions regarding construction, technical feasibility or procurement.
• Client Intake & Evaluation: Partner with the Principal in initial client consultations and the screening of prospective projects to assess design feasibility and business alignment.
• Design Direction: Lead your team in defining and articulating a cohesive design direction; maintain the overall aesthetic and ensure it aligns with the Principal’s vision.
• Presentation & Execution: Plan and execute the presentation of designs to clients; manage the selection of all furnishings for final approval by the Principal.
• Escalated Issue Management: Step in to resolve high-level project issues, vendor disputes, or site challenges that require senior-level expertise across the firm.
