Role Overview

The Director of Warehouse & Inventory Systems leads Blue Peak’s warehouse operations and inventory infrastructure, ensuring all rental assets are accurate, organized, maintained, and ready for deployment. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for building systems, processes, and accountability within a growing and underdeveloped function. This leader will oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and the implementation of a modern Inventory Management System.

The role partners with Production and Logistics/Fleet to ensure jobs are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a warehouse team of approximately 8 to 16 employees across seasonal demand.
  • Ensure accurate picking, staging, loading, and return of all rental inventory, eliminating misloads, missing equipment, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Design and maintain an efficient warehouse layout including racking, zones, labeling, and material flow.
  • Adjust staffing levels, workflows, and procedures for peak and off-season operations.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Inventory Systems & Process Development
  • Evaluate, recommend, and help implement an Inventory Management System.
  • Lead system setup, data accuracy, training, and daily adoption.
  • Create and enforce SOPs for receiving, returns, inventory tracking, and load verification.
  • Maintain real time visibility into inventory counts, condition, and repair status.
  • Prepare purchase requests for replacement or replenishment of damaged or retired assets.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting to track accuracy, throughput, and performance.
Maintenance & Equipment Readiness
  • Oversee inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to minimize downtime.
  • Track repair turnaround times and equipment availability.
  • Maintain a weekly Maintenance & Project List summarizing inventory condition, repair backlog, active maintenance and facility projects, and process improvement initiatives.
Cross Functional Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner with Production and Fleet teams to align inventory readiness with job schedules
  • Monitor and report warehouse KPIs tied to accuracy, speed, and reliability.
  • Provide weekly updates to the CFO on performance and improvement efforts.
  • Support planning for capital investments, equipment lifecycle, and warehouse expansion.
Qualifications
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive warehouse or operations leadership experience, with event rental, logistics, or equipment intensive environments preferred.
  • Proven success implementing or managing an Inventory Management System.
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and repair workflows.
  • Experience building SOPs in fast paced, operational settings.
  • Comfortable with warehouse or asset management platforms such as Flex, Net Suite, or similar.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Hands on leader who leads from the floor, not just the office.
