What we’re looking for:

Nexamp is seeking a Portfolio Services Manager to manage the Independent Engineer (IE) review process for Nexamp-developed solar and storage projects. In this role, you will manage the IE contracts and coordinate internal resources to ensure high-quality, timely IE deliverables that support Nexamp and its financing stakeholders. This is key in managing critical deliverables, including certifications and reports, within tight and competing deadlines.

Success will require strong project management skills, including managing critical paths, navigating scopes of work, and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.

You will manage high volumes of project data, including contracts, design documents, PVsyst reports, site visits and construction monitoring, commissioning tests, and performance analysis of operating assets. You will leverage technical acumen, schedule management, understanding of financial implications, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and clear communication with third-party reviewers.

We are accepting candidates in our Boston, MA, and Chicago, IL headquarters, where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Director, Renewable Portfolio Services.

What you’ll do
  • Manage the IE due-diligence process and critical deliverables for Nexamp financing opportunities on a project or portfolio basis, ensuring high-quality outcomes within tight and competing deadlines.
  • Act as the primary liaison between IEs and internal Nexamp teams, including Capital Markets and Clean Energy Deployment, interpreting technical feedback and resolving conflicting inputs in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the exchange of project information and documentation in support of IE due diligence reviews, managing IE deliverables (reports, certificates, etc.) in alignment with financing schedules.
  • Monitor and prepare for critical project milestones (e.g. mechanical completion (MC), substantial completion (SC), etc.), coordinating required third-party certifications to meet financing milestones or requirements.
  • Lead the organization and quality control of project documents and design reviews.
  • Support the Director, Renewable Portfolio Services, in the IE due diligence process and ongoing risk management processes and standards.
  • Support Nexamp workflow evolution with adaptation to AI tools, project management software, etc.
What you’ll bring
  • 4+ years of experience in technical and financial due diligence for renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management, risk identification and mitigation, handling complex data sets and documentation, and prioritizing key priorities and outcomes.
  • Direct experience in Independent Engineering or third-party technical advisory is a plus.
  • Solar PV design, development, construction, or asset management experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
