Job Summary- We are seeking an experienced CPA to step into a senior leadership role managing staff, client relationships, and firm operations, while helping guide the firm into its next generation of growth and innovation.
- This leadership role blends client advisory, firm management, and strategic direction.
- Managing client relationships and serving as a trusted business advisor
- Leadership and oversight of the firm's tax, accounting, and consulting services
- Review of tax returns including 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 709, 1041, and 990PF
- Preparation of a limited number of complex tax returns
- Acting as the go-to expert on complex tax matters, client reorganizations, mergers & acquisitions, and entity sales
- Interpreting partnership agreements and contracts as they relate to accounting and tax matters for closely held businesses
- Industry exposure including professional & personal services, medical professionals, restaurants, and retail
- Understanding sales tax concepts, laws, and reporting requirements
- Leading tax projection and planning strategies for clients and internal teams
- Managing multi-state tax filings, nexus considerations, and allocation concepts
- Driving the firm's evolution through efficient, technology-enabled processes
- Mentoring, coaching, and managing a small, high-performing professional staff
- Overseeing new client onboarding to ensure a high level of service excellence
- Contributing to firm strategy, growth initiatives, and succession planning
- Participating in professional development and networking to strengthen the firm's market presence
- Active CPA license
- 7-10 years of progressive public accounting experience with strong tax expertise
- 5+ years of management experience, including staff leadership and client relationship management
- Strong understanding of small business accounting and tax planning
- Proficiency with Ultra Tax and Quick Books Online (Pro Advisor certification preferred)
- Excellent communication and client advisory skills
- Comfort with technology, automation, and process improvement tools
- Exceptional work-life balance: ~2,000 hours/year, Fridays off during the summer, and typically under 50 hours/week during tax season
