About This Role Consertus is looking for a Project Controls Director who will achieve the financial and business objectives of the Project Controls Group. They will build, organize, grow, and manage the Project Controls Group. The Project Controls Director will have full managerial responsibility of a group and the direction, control, and utilization of staff. They are responsible for the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality of projects.
Key Responsibilities Business Planning and Development- In collaboration with COO, develop tactical (1-2 year) and strategic (3-5 year) Project Controls business plan.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively prospect to develop new clients
- Lead proposal preparation, submittal, presentation, and negotiation.
- Attend industry events during or outside work hours to network with clients and prospective clients and other industry professionals.
- Recruit, hire, and develop new project controls staff.
- Responsible for training, managing, evaluating, and motivating direct reports.
- Effectively communicate with direct reports to portray information that reflects organization values and motivates and retains direct reports.
- Establish best practices, standard of procedures, policies & provides tools to ensure staff meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Manage staff utilization on client assignments.
- Act as lead client point of contact for project controls projects.
- Continuously cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing clients.
- Obtain feedback about our performance and resolve any issues identified.
- Maintain a level of utilization on billable projects.
- 15+ years of cost and schedule experience managing complex capital projects or programs in the AEC industry.
- 5+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Proven success managing clients and obtaining new business.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field preferred.
- Certifications from AACE, CMAA, or PMI are preferred.
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software applications and Primavera.
