Director, Market Strategy & Understanding What Makes This Role Important at Ipsos

As a Director you are collaborative by nature, have an eagle-eye attention to detail, and brilliant organizational skills. In this role you will be a trusted partner to several leading technology and media companies, managing global research projects and helping clients solve business problems through a range of research methodologies. You will build team talent, create client loyalty and respect, and work closely with senior leaders to ensure project accuracy and schedule adherence, while sharing creative and analytical skills with your bright, coachable team members each day.

Responsibilities
  • Independently price and write full proposals of all types, aiming to grow Ipsos business and presence with assigned clients.
  • Have vision for the spectrum of client needs and help connect the dots between projects.
  • Link projects to each other, pull in other service lines, proactively share Ipsos capabilities, and more.
  • Develop new business outreach and structured business development plans.
  • Influence internal process improvement, cross‑sector education, and methodology expertise.
  • Mentor and train junior team members on best practices and career growth on an ongoing basis.
  • Create an internal brand within Ipsos and develop the unique area of expertise you want to be known for.
  • Act as primary project lead to the client, overseeing more junior members.
  • Handle complex conversations and communications around project design, analysis, and unexpected challenges.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to more junior team members on their client interactions.
  • Perform project‑management tasks focused on guidance, oversight, and review of custom survey development, in‑field challenges, and analysis planning and execution.
  • Lead or co‑lead final report writing, strategic client guidance, and presentation of findings.
  • Act as manager to one or more Account Managers/Senior Account Managers.
  • Oversee training schedule, day‑to‑day guidance, supervision, and feedback (ongoing and during annual reviews).
  • Act as strategic leader for the project team and sometimes for the client account team overall.
  • Consider implications of actions, identify opportunities and risks, and balance client needs with optimal outcomes for Ipsos.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7+ years of research experience; ideally at least 5 years on the supplier side.
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience in mentoring and/or managing others.
  • Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, including ability to manage and delegate work effectively, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with a view to the bigger picture and overall objectives of each task.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects, including managing workload of direct reports.
  • Ability to think creatively about aligning appropriate project resources.
  • Strong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skills.
  • Ability to think strategically in terms of clients’ business and opportunities for Ipsos to grow its business.
  • Highly motivated, self‑directed, and capable of working within tight deadlines.
  • Strong relationships with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and well‑developed interpersonal and presentation skills.
