Job Description

Each of the hundreds of condominium buildings that we manage, all within the city of Chicago, receives an on-site inspection on a regular basis, and we provide basic fire safety services for many of them.

For inspections, our building inspectors perform visual reviews of the properties to note often overlooked concerns related to building maintenance, building deterioration, safety issues that the client and our off-site property manager should be aware of. The result of the inspection is a detailed report that is provided to the property manager and to the condominium’s board.

Approximately 65% of your time would be spent preparing for and performing inspections in the field, regardless of weather. The remaining ~35% would be spent in the office creating the associated reports.

A company vehicle for transportation to/from our office to inspection sites, computer, camera, and all other required equipment (other than weather appropriate clothing) will be provided.

Working remotely is not an option for this position and all work days begin and end at our office in Lakeview.

No Building Inspection Or Other Experience Required. Training provided.

Schedule
  • 20-30 working hours per week (plus unpaid time for lunch).
  • Set schedule of 3-4 weekdays per week (for example, every Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday, Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday, etc.)
  • 5-7.5 working hours per day
  • Days/hours are fixed and guaranteed, with opportunities for additional hours on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
  • Team oriented, bright, eager to learn
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Intermediate-level word processing in Microsoft Word
  • Intermediate computer skills (downloading photos, attaching files to emails, accurately creating and navigating deep folder/directory structure, etc.)
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Compensation

$20 to $23 per hour based on experience.
