Site Safety Consultant, CHST Job Duties
- Responsible for implementation of client policy as it relates to worker safety as well as implementing client directives.
- Responsible for interacting and planning with Director of Field Operations to ensure that day to day activities are conducted in a safe manner.
- Work with Director of Field Operations to create a safety culture through safety leadership teams, employee involvement in safety programs, training programs, and positive work environment.
- Conduct onsite safety training and toolbox talks.
- Conduct necessary audits on work activities.
- Work with medical personnel to give injured employees proper care while performing proactive case management.
- Provide feedback to client on activities and issues that are occurring, so that standardization can be achieved throughout the process.
- Prepare and submit daily reporting to Director of Field Operations.
- Provide daily leadership in Safety Staff meetings, Operations briefings, and other meetings/conference calls.
- Interface with Government Regulators, Client Safety Personnel, EMS/Fire Department, Prime Contractors.
- Conduct incident investigation and reporting. Resolve differences and find solutions to issues between Operations and Safety.
- 5+ years of experience required; 10 years of experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or higher certification issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
- OSHA 30 Hr. Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Stop the Bleed Certification.
- Experience with SHE, control of Work, and Incident investigation.
- Familiarity with local, state, federal and OSHA regulations.
- Work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Professionalism, interpersonal skills, and reliability.
- Effective computer skills.
