Position: Associate Director, Account Management (Retail Media Network)

Job Description

The Associate Director, Account Management is a senior leader within the Retail Media Network team, responsible for driving strategic excellence across campaign delivery, client relationships, and team development. You will oversee a team of Account Managers and Senior Account Managers, ensuring flawless execution and measurable impact for a portfolio of high‑value retail media campaigns. As an elevated player‑coach, you will guide campaign strategy, lead top‑tier client engagements, and build operational maturity across the team.

You are equally passionate about delivering best‑in‑class service as you are about mentoring talent, identifying growth opportunities, and optimizing how we work. We are looking for strong cross‑functional collaboration with Sales, Media, Analytics, and Creative teams to ensure seamless delivery and value creation. You will sit within Dentsu’s New Stream Media capability, supporting eRetail, Retail Media Network, and Shopper Marketing initiatives, and report to the Senior Director, Account Management.

responsibilities
  • Account Leadership:
    Lead the delivery of strategic campaigns for a set of top‑tier clients; own client relationships post‑insertion order (IO) and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Team Management:
    Manage a team of Account Managers and Senior Account Managers, providing guidance, quality oversight, and career development support.
  • Campaign Oversight:
    Oversee the full campaign lifecycle across systems (Salesforce, , Smart Sheet), ensuring accuracy in setup, pacing, optimization, and reporting.
  • Client Communication:
    Serve as senior escalation point and strategic advisor in client communications, driving QBRs, wrap reporting, and performance storytelling.
  • Process Optimization:
    Lead efforts to improve team workflows, campaign documentation standards, and operational efficiencies that ensure scale.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnering:
    Collaborate with Media, Sales, Analytics, and Creative teams to troubleshoot delivery issues, identify strategic upsell opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Performance Management:
    Establish KPIs and benchmarks for account teams and ensure consistent delivery against those goals.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Proactively identify and resolve campaign risks or performance issues; ensure teams are empowered with tools and training to respond quickly and effectively.
  • Strategic Input:
    Contribute to business planning, client renewals, and strategic roadmap development in partnership with Sales and senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • 6–8 or more years of experience in account management, retail media, digital media, or client services, with experience with campaign ownership and team leadership.
  • Experience managing direct reports and mentoring across levels; demonstrated ability to build high‑performing, engaged teams.
  • Working knowledge of retail media platforms, digital media KPIs, campaign workflows, and optimization tactics.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with experience influencing both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Able to manage multiple complex campaigns across teams and accounts.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, , Smartsheet, Excel, and presentation tools such as PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000 – $110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
