General Manager – High-Volume Hospitality Operation (Chicago)
We are a well-established, high-volume hospitality operation in Chicago seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations, people, and performance. This role is ideal for a strong hospitality leader who has a proven track record of running busy service environments and takes real ownership of results.
This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for someone who understands what it takes to lead teams, maintain high standards, and execute consistently under pressure.
THE ROLEThe General Manager is responsible for overall operational performance, team leadership, and guest experience. You will work closely with ownership and senior leadership while serving as the primary on-site leader.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead, train, and hold staff accountable to clear standards
Maintain excellent hospitality and service at all times
Own staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations
Ensure consistent execution of operating procedures
Manage labor efficiently and responsibly
Address operational challenges quickly and effectively
Build a culture of professionalism, urgency, and pride
Lead by example during busy service periods
Minimum 3 years of management experience in hospitality
Demonstrated success in high-volume, fast-paced environments
Strong leadership and communication skills
Hands-on, visible management style
Sound judgment and follow-through
Comfortable taking accountability for outcomes
Working knowledge of labor management and basic financial controls
You can point to specific teams you’ve led or improved
You take responsibility when things go wrong and fix them
