Job Description

McDonald’s has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Employee Relations Strategy and Policies (US) role based in our Chicago Global Headquarters (MHQ). You will assist in managing and refining McDonald’s employee relations policy framework and strategies for its U.S. Corporate Offices and Restaurants including, but not limited to, employee trust and psychological safety, concerns management, leaves and absences, performance improvement plans, and employee separations.

You will also help with measuring the effectiveness of strategies and policies through developing guidelines and tools for U.S. market stakeholders, and staying updated on industry trends and best practices in employee relations, inclusion, and safety. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Global Employee Relations Strategy and Policies.

The candidate will be required to be in the Chicago Headquarters office three days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Support development of comprehensive Global Market Employee Relations policy framework and strategy
  • Assist with development of concerns management strategy and processes, including escalation and follow up processes
  • Assist with audit and development of leave and absence policies
  • Assist in the review and development of performance improvement plans and employee separations framework and policy
  • Partner with Supervisor of Employee Strategy and Policies (International), Safe, Respectful, and Inclusive Workplace teams, and Restaurant Listening to formulate employee relations strategies
  • Partner with other internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Impact, Operations) to ensure alignment, assess enterprise needs, and identify priorities
  • Identify, partner with, and manage third party vendors who can support strategy and policies
  • Own critical administration tasks
  • Evaluate and create reports to measure the effectiveness of Employee Relations strategy and policies and other related initiatives in markets/globally
  • Research and stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and benchmarks in employee relations, inclusion, and safety
  • Monitor and evaluate employee relations metrics and trends, analyze data, and develop insights to inform decision‑making and drive continuous improvement
  • Understand and keep up to date with employment laws and trends that can affect employee relations and employee experience
