WHEREYOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
The Director, Enterprise Innovation sits within Tech Solutions and leads the strategy, development, and delivery of innovative product outcomes aligned with Bain's strategic priorities. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight, ensuring products meet business objectives through agile, iterative processes. The Director fosters collaboration with senior stakeholders, influences change, and builds strong cross‑functional relationships. They are also responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a high‑performing team of Product Innovation Managers, driving adoption of best practices, and introducing new methodologies to enhance innovation efforts.
A strong foundation in multi‑disciplinary innovation and business acumen is essential for success in this role.
- Support and coach innovation managers on various aspects of innovation, leveraging expertise to add value to the team's efforts and advising on strategic issues and initiatives.
- Help implement agile methodologies and new innovation approaches for team success, guiding them on complex matters within the functional area.
- Act as a subject matter expert, using deep functional and technical knowledge to influence team members and drive innovation.
- Manage multiple team members responsible for individual projects, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with emerging business needs and strategic vision.
- Support projects across the lifecycle and assist team members in leveraging best practices and anticipating actions for successful project delivery.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of company policies and practices, advising and influencing the team on best practices and innovative approaches.
- Manage aspects of the Innovation team, ensuring team members thrive in their roles and develop strategic, cross‑Practice product concepts.
- Contribute to shaping EIA team strategy through OKRs and other initiatives, understanding interrelated departments and processes, and driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement best practices for innovation through frameworks, playbooks, and tools that empower teams across the firm.
- Opportunistically expand the innovation portfolio of services, influencing decision‑making and taking ownership of complex programs.
- Possess highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, managing diverse relationships and interactions, and maintaining promoter relationships within the office or functional area.
- Lead and inspire a team of Innovation Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
