About the Role

FLATS LLC, a Proper company, is looking for a dedicated Janitorial professional to join our team at The Avra in North Center, Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our apartment building's common areas and amenities clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and guests.

This full-time, on-site position involves performing daily cleaning routines, restocking supplies, waste management, and ensuring that the property maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Your efforts will directly contribute to our residents' experience and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties for lobbies, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, fitness centers, and other communal areas
• Empty trash containers and manage waste disposal according to property guidelines
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize to ensure a tidy environment
• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas
• Proactively check cleanliness throughout the day and respond to maintenance needs promptly
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, guests, and team members encountered during your shift
• Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, basic troubleshooting, and general upkeep of grounds
• Support snow/ice removal efforts as necessary
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, and other concerns promptly
• Assist with move-in/move-out cleaning as needed

• Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Requirements

• Prior experience in janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or facility maintenance roles is preferred
• Strong understanding of cleaning techniques and use of janitorial equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
• Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently
• Full-time, on-site availability required, including potential weekends and evenings
