Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Bedford Park, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (occasional Saturday support as needed)
Employment Type: Direct Hire, Salaried
Compensation: $70,000 - $105,000 annually (based on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support a small team of maintenance technicians in a clean, stable manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a mechanically strong leader who enjoys being on the floor, driving preventive maintenance initiatives, and improving equipment reliability while maintaining a high level of autonomy.

The Maintenance Supervisor will spend approximately 60-75% of their time hands-on with maintenance activities and 25-40% planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance operations across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, assign, and support daily work for 4-5 Maintenance Technicians
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and installation of production and facility equipment
• Maintain plant readiness and equipment uptime across multiple facilities
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs
• Manage CMMS (Maintain
  
  X preferred), including work orders, PM schedules, and parts inventory
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems (up to 480V)
• Work with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, motors, and related systems
• Establish, enforce, and audit Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Manage outside vendors and coordinate outsourced maintenance work
• Support capital expense (Cap Ex) planning, equipment evaluations, and installations
• Oversee facility systems such as fire and security alarms
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal and state safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and electrical)
• 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in an industrial maintenance environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 480V, with basic PLC knowledge
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Conveyors, pumps, motors
  • Industrial production and facility equipment
• CMMS experience managing work orders, PMs, and inventory (Maintain
  
  X preferred)
• Experience managing facilities and maintenance teams
• Strong project management, scheduling, and follow-up skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance standards
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Experience with cutting equipment, welders, robotics, coating/painting systems, or packaging machinery
• Tooling experience
• Technical certifications or formal maintenance training
