Summary: Under the supervision of the project manager, the position involves daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of commercial, industrial, or office buildings.

Supervises (Position Title): None

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cleans, sweeps, and mops floors as scheduled.
• Washes mirrors, stalls, walls, sinks, and baseboards as specified in the cleaning contract.
• Vacuums, shampoos, and scrubs carpets.
• Performs periodic buffing, stripping, and waxing of floors.
• Cleans water fountains, telephone booths, storage areas, and janitorial closets.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of experience in janitorial/custodial work or completion of a related training program.
• Documentation of disability, such as a psychological, psychiatric, or physical assessment on official letterhead with a signature from a healthcare professional.

Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions; handle problems involving multiple variables; read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information in one-on-one or small group settings. Physical requirements include regular talking and hearing, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/moving up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Environmental Conditions: Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
