Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic organizes, coordinates, and implements the operations of corrective and preventive maintenance for the Agency.

$19.77/hr

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the safety of all building occupants.
• Complete general building, apartment repairs, and janitorial projects such as replacing defective equipment parts, lubricating shafts, replacing filters, cleaning units and common areas, and snow removal.
• Adhere to all safety rules and training in the agency-approved facilities manual.
• Maintain OSHA training and safety procedures.

• High School or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must read and write at a 6th grade level.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with computers optional. Must possess strong people skills, clear communication, interpersonal abilities, ability to work with diverse persons, sound judgment, knowledge of general housecleaning methods, tools, equipment, and supplies used in janitorial work, ability to follow written and oral instructions, and carry out physical work.

Works collaboratively with all agency staff. May be required to work weekends or holidays. Physical work includes sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, and lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in executing tasks.
