Job SummaryThe firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its Chicago office within the First-Party Property Insurance Coverage practice group. This role involves handling complex first-party property coverage matters, from pre-suit analysis through litigation. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities- Analyze first-party property insurance policies and identify coverage issues
- Prepare written coverage opinions and pre-suit evaluations
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery in coverage litigation
- Manage matters through all phases of litigation
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Participate in mediations and settlement discussions
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues to develop legal strategy
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant legal experience
- Experience with insurance coverage disputes preferred, including policy analysis and coverage opinions
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Competitive salary range of $120,000–$180,000 depending on experience
