Salary Range: $150,000 – $250,000, commensurate with experience
Airdo Werwas, LLC, is seeking an accomplished Partner or Senior Counsel with a strong background in employment law to join our dynamic practice in Chicago. Our firm represents a broad range of clients, including nonprofit organizations, local government entities, religious institutes, and private employers across the country. This position offers the opportunity to lead and expand the firm’s employment law practice while collaborating with a team that values excellence, integrity, and service.
Aboutthe Role
The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience handling complex employment-related matters, including litigation, counseling, and compliance. This role will involve advising clients on workplace policies, representing employers in administrative and court proceedings, and providing strategic guidance on labor and personnel issues. Candidates with a portable book of business or demonstrated business development experience are highly encouraged to apply, but not necessary.
Open to lateral partnership opportunities and those wishing to advance in their practice.
- Counsel employers on workplace policies, compliance with employment laws, and best practices for risk mitigation.
- Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and personnel policies.
- Conduct workplace investigations and training for employers.
- Represent clients in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies (EEOC, IDHR, etc.).
- Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on marketing, client development, and strategic growth of the employment law practice.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 5–8 years of experience in employment law and related litigation.
- Admitted and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Salary range: $150,000 – $250,000, based on experience and qualifications.
