Estate Planning & Business Attorney
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Billable Requirement: 1,600–1,800 hours annually
A downtown Chicago boutique practice is seeking an Illinois-licensed attorney with 2–5 years of experience in estate planning and business matters. This role supports high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and entrepreneurs across estate, tax, corporate, and real estate matters. The environment is collaborative and growth-focused, offering the opportunity to build a sophisticated, well-rounded legal practice.
Key Practice Areas- Estate and wealth transfer planning
- Gift and estate tax strategy
- Family business succession planning
- Trust and estate administration
- Corporate and business advisory matters
- Real estate transactions
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
- Structure gift and estate tax planning strategies
- Manage trust and estate administration matters
Form business entities and maintain corporate governance - Handle real estate closings
- Prepare federal and Illinois estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns
- Collaborate with clients and outside professionals
- Illinois Bar admission required
- 2–5 years of relevant legal experience
- Background in estate planning and tax matters
- Experience in corporate transactions or residential real estate preferred, not required
- Interest in developing a broad, long-term practice in estate, corporate, real estate, and tax law
