Job Title: General Liability Associate Attorney
Location: Chicago, IL (60602)
Salary/Payrate: $90 - $120K (Associate)
Work Environment: Hybrid (2 or 3 days WFH)
Term: Permanent / Fulltime
Bachelor’s degree required: Yes and JD plus Licensed to practice in Illinois and/or Indiana
Referral Fee: AMS will pay $1,000 should the person you refer gets hired
Job Description p>Our client, a respected mid‑sized law firm located in the Chicago Loop, is seeking an experienced General Liability Defense Attorney to join their growing practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney with strong litigation skills and a deep background in insurance defense to step into a role offering impactful client work, professional growth, and meaningful collaboration.Key Responsibilities- Handle a broad range of general liability and tort litigation matters.
- Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Develop case strategy, prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Conduct legal research and provide risk assessments and recommendations to clients.
- Work closely with clients, maintaining strong communication and delivering excellent service.
- Take on opportunities for business development, including collaborating with existing casualty defense clients and developing your own portfolio.
- 2-6 years of Illinois or Indiana insurance defense experience required.
- Strong foundation in tort litigation and general liability matters.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
