Fund Formation Associate

Chicago | Hybrid

An AmLaw-recognized law firm is seeking an associate to join its Fund Formation practice in Chicago.

This role is well-suited for an associate with experience advising sponsors and investors in private investment funds who is looking to deepen their exposure within a sophisticated, market-leading fund formation practice.

The associate will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on private investment fund formation matters, including the formation and structuring of private equity, venture capital, and other private funds. The practice offers meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and involvement in sponsor-level transactions and secondary fund transactions.

• 2+ years of experience in private investment fund formation

• Experience representing sponsors and/or investors in private funds

• Exposure to sponsor-level transactions involving general partner and management company entities

• Familiarity with secondary transactions involving limited partners and/or portfolio interests

• Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills

• Admitted in Illinois or eligible to waive in

• Highly regarded Fund Formation practice with national reach

• Sophisticated private investment fund work across asset classes

• Lean team structure with direct partner access

• Hybrid flexibility in the Chicago office

• Compensation commensurate with experience and market
