Legal Secretary, Business Law, Paralegal
Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 (based on experience)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established law firm in Chicago, is seeking experienced Trust & Estate, Real Estate, and Corporate Paralegals to join their growing team. These roles offer a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to support sophisticated legal matters in a collaborative, professional environment.
The firm values strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with attorneys and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, depending on practice area:
- Prepare estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney)
- Assist with probate and trust administration filings
- Coordinate asset transfers and maintain estate records
- Communicate with clients, courts, and third parties
- Support commercial and residential real estate transactions
- Draft and review closing documents, leases, and agreements
- Coordinate due diligence and closings
- Manage transaction timelines and filings
Corporate
- Assist with entity formation, governance, and maintenance
- Prepare corporate documents, resolutions, and filings
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
- Maintain corporate records and compliance calendars
Qualifications
- 3+ years of paralegal experience in Trust & Estate, Real Estate, and/or Corporate law
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation, filing requirements, and transactional processes
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Paralegal certificate preferred (not required)
Additional Information:
Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
