Salary: $127,376-$144,088 Salary range is provided by law; however, individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and quality of experience. Any salary offered is determined by the Chief of Staff and is non-negotiable.

General Description
:
The Juvenile Sex Crimes Specialist will serve as the sex crimes expert and lead prosecutor for all sex crimes in the Juvenile Justice Division (approximately 30-35 cases). This position requires an 18-month commitment that may be extended upon completion. This is a full-time bargaining unit exempt position.
Working Environment and Reporting Structure

The Juvenile Sex Crimes Specialist will be the lead prosecutor for all sex crimes cases within the Juvenile Justice Division and will vertically prosecute these cases from arraignment to disposition with the assistance and collaboration of the line ASAs assigned to the geographical courtrooms. When needed, the Juvenile Sex Crimes Specialist will also collaborate with concurrent adult co-offender prosecutions as well as law enforcement special task forces.
The Juvenile Sex Crimes Specialist will mentor and coach the assisting line ASAs and work as a liaison with the adult Sex Crimes Division.
The Juvenile Sex Crimes Specialist shall be an effective advocate and emissary of the mission, vision, and values of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office both with ASAs as well as juvenile court, law enforcement, and community partners.

- Trial experience prosecuting complex aggravated criminal sexual assault/abuse cases;
- Experience conducting fitness and 115-10 hearings;
- Experience directing and cross-examining expert witnesses;
