Position: Paralegal - New England

Paralegal – New England (Mass Tort Paralegal)

We seek a motivated paralegal with asbestos litigation experience to support the New England asbestos practice in a virtual or office setting. The role will focus on discovery, deposition preparation, investigation, trial and mediation preparation, analysis of factual information, assistance in preparation of pleadings, motions and/or briefs, management of document production databases and case management databases, and trial participation.

Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude.

  • Learn and develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
  • Independently organize and manage files or delegate similar tasks to paralegal assistants or Information Governance and supervise the same.
  • Attend and participate in in‑house CLEs.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegal assistants.
  • Anticipate attorney needs.
  • Independently handle all key duties without supervision of another paralegal or senior paralegal.
  • Meet a billable hour requirement of 1,500 hours per year.

POSITION‑SPECIFIC REQUIRES
  • Asbestos / Toxic Tort litigation experience mandatory.
  • Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree in a law‑related field or associate’s degree and paralegal training.
  • Familiarity with e‑filing protocols and online docket research in New England state and federal courts.
  • Location in New England area preferred but not required for candidates with asbestos litigation experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location and other factors permitted by law. Expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • California: $84,000 – $112,000
  • Colorado: $67,000 – $92,000
  • Illinois: $72,000 – $98,000
  • Maryland: $70,000 – $98,000
  • Massachusetts: $76,000 – $90,000
  • Minnesota: $89,000 – $100,000
  • New Jersey (Jersey City): $85,000 – $116,000
  • New York: $79,000 – $116,000
  • Washington: $78,000 – $106,000
  • Washington, DC: $85,000 – $115,000
