The ORAMCO risk transfer underwriting facility evaluates prices and manages the unbundled primary risk transfer business written by Old Republic Risk Management. We are seeking an Executive Underwriter to profitably grow our casualty loss-sensitive book of business, which comprises Workers’ Compensation, Auto, and General Liability lines of business. This position works closely with our actuarial and sales teams to help identify the best opportunities to pursue.

We have a flat organizational structure to embrace responsibility and an efficient decision-making process. The ORAMCO department is in Chicago and supports risk transfer underwriting for the entire country.

• Underwrite, document, and service a book of new and renewal large account loss-sensitive casualty business.
• Understand, interpret, and consider predictive modeling results as part of the decision-making process.
• Consider different approaches to accounts to maximize profitability.
• Execute strategies to drive profitable growth.
• Cultivate relationships with our sales executives to evaluate accounts and find creative solutions.
• Generate and assist with the implementation of ideas for continuous operational improvement.
• Create and build relationships with treaty and facultative reinsurers.
• Mentor and help train less experienced underwriters.
• Minimal travel.

• 5+ years of national account and/or facultative reinsurance casualty underwriting (Auto, GL, WC).
• Ability to analyze risk across a broad spectrum of industries and clearly present findings.
• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Excel.
