About the Role

We are hiring a UX Design Intern focused on AI experiences to support the design team in delivering intuitive, user-centered solutions across Lenovo's device and software ecosystem.

This is a role where you will contribute to clearly defined tasks and features under close guidance from other designers and leadership. You will gain experience across the design lifecycle: from early exploration to learning about implementation, all while building your craft and team collaboration skills.

What You'll Do
  • Support small, well-defined portions of larger UX initiatives (e.g., specific flows, components, screens, or states).
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and simple interaction models based on established design direction.
  • Produce visual refinements and asset updates aligned to existing design systems.
  • Develop low- to mid-fidelity prototypes to illustrate specific interactions or concepts.
  • Apply established design patterns and follow documented guidelines.
  • QA implementation to ensure design quality.
Research & Iteration Support
  • Assist in preparing materials for user research (mockups, prototypes, note-taking).
  • Help synthesize research findings into organized summaries.
  • Make incremental updates based on usability feedback and design review input.
Collaboration & Learning
  • Participate in design critiques and team reviews.
  • Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and iterate quickly.
  • Observe cross-functional meetings to understand product and engineering constraints.
  • Learn how design intent is handed off to engineering and support documentation updates.
Craft Development
  • Build foundational skills in interaction design, prototyping, accessibility, and systems thinking.
  • Gain hands-on experience with AI-specific UX patterns.
  • Strengthen presentation skills by sharing work in small group settings.
Basic Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, UX Design, or related field.
  • Portfolio demonstrating foundational UX skills (wireframes, flows, prototypes).
  • Familiarity with standard tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of basic UX principles and interaction patterns.
  • Strong willingness to learn and accept feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework or projects related to AI, emerging technology, or cross-platform experiences.
  • Experience participating in usability testing (academic or project-based).
  • Exposure to design systems or component libraries.
  • Interest in accessibility and inclusive design practices.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range budgeted for this position is $30 - $34 per hour and is based on years of educational experience.
