IT Consultant, Data Engineer
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mule Soft Developer who will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integration solutions using Mule Soft’s Anypoint Platform. This role focuses on implementing APIs, data transformations, and system integrations that enable seamless communication across enterprise applications.
In this role, you will:- Experienced in J2EE, Java Servlets, JMS, EJB in building integration projects using Mule ESB, Mule API and Mule Cloud Hub
- Solid programming skills and experience troubleshooting Mule ESB, including working with debuggers, flow analyzers and configuration tools.
- Experience working with RAML using Mule Soft. RAML specifications/build experience
- Experience with Services Oriented Architecture and RESTful Architecture, web services development
- Experience in Core Java, Messaging (JMS), Web API - SOAP, REST and authentication methods such as OAuth and SAML
- Experience with Anypoint Runtime Manager and Enterprise release capabilities is a plus
- Services, XSLT, CXF, Spring Framework, etc. in order to deliver solutions. Strong knowledge of EAI/SOA best practices, development methodologies & standards
- 2+ years’ experience working in Integration platforms
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime
- Continuously improve performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Strong hands-on expertise in Mule Soft Anypoint Platform, including integration development, API led connectivity, and application network design.
- Hands on experience with Mule Soft platform administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Proven ability to design and architect scalable integration solutions using modern design patterns and architectural principles.
- Deep understanding of integration needs within industrial manufacturing or similar complex enterprise environments.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, solution structuring, and estimation/resource planning for integration projects.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, cross functional collaboration, and driving execution excellence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Relevant Mule Soft certifications, such as Mule Soft Certified Developer, Integration Architect and Mule Soft Certified Platform Architect.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Chicago, IL. Salary and Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
