Position Summary

The Procurement Manager serves as a subject matter expert in technology and professional services contracting, providing strategic guidance on complex negotiations and serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders, the Office of General Counsel, and external vendors. This role requires the ability to independently manage high‑value, high‑complexity contract negotiations and drive process improvements across the contract lifecycle. Individuals in this role must demonstrate sound business judgment and the highest level of professionalism in communications with attorneys, staff, and vendors

Essential Job Functions Contract Negotiation & Management
  • Lead negotiations for complex IT/SaaS agreements, enterprise software licenses, and professional services contracts
  • Draft, review, and redline vendor agreements to ensure alignment with firm policies and objectives
  • Advise business teams and Procurement leadership on commercial and legal considerations, escalating to General Counsel as appropriate
  • Interpret existing contract language and develop strategies to mitigate risk
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as primary contact for technology and professional services contracting
  • Build trusted relationships with IT leadership, business owners, and project managers
  • Coordinate cross‑functional reviews with Information Security, Privacy, Finance, and General Counsel
Process Improvement & Governance
  • Enhance contract lifecycle processes and develop contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments affecting technology contracting
  • Contribute to procurement policy and procedure development
  • Support strategic vendor relationship management, performance monitoring, and contract renewals
  • Coordinate resolution of contract disputes or performance issues
Other Responsibilities
  • Research, evaluate, and procure technology and professional services using appropriate methods
  • Develop scopes and evaluation criteria for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
  • Participate in proposal evaluations and provide procurement recommendations based on bid analysis
Qualifications and Other Requisites Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive procurement experience is required, with at least three years focused on IT/SaaS contract negotiation and management within a corporate legal, professional services, or finance environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiating enterprise software agreements, cloud services contracts, and technology licensing arrangements is essential
Technical Expertise
  • Expert‑level knowledge of IT/SaaS contract structures, including licensing models, SLAs, data security provisions, and technology‑specific risk allocation
  • Strong understanding of professional services agreements, consulting arrangements, and statement of work development
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and compliance frameworks relevant to legal industry vendors
  • Knowledge of contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and procurement technology platforms
