Implementation Associate - Job Description

Role is located in Chicago - not eligible for remote work

Who We Are

STEAMe is a workforce technology company turning fragmented systems into engines of economic advancement. Our roots in Now Pow—a nationally recognized social care referral platform that connected 13 million people to vital care services—taught us how to deliver multi‑sided platforms that power complex ecosystems. We channel that expertise into STEAMe, with purpose‑built workforce solutions that close data and process gaps, connect stakeholders, and accelerate job placement and prosperity at scale.

The Role

As the Implementation Associate, you will help new customers launch STEAMe smoothly and confidently—from discovery through go‑live—by keeping projects organized, customers prepared, and training delivered at the right moments. Reporting to the Implementation Lead, you’ll collaborate cross‑functionally to create an onboarding experience that accelerates early adoption and sets the foundation for long‑term success.

Because we’re a fast‑growing and agile startup, you’ll contribute across implementation execution, customer readiness, and enablement—supporting onboarding communications, coordinating timelines, and building training materials that make our platform easier to use and easier to love.

If you excel at coordinating moving parts, solving customer launch challenges, and turning complexity into clear next steps—this role is for you. Bonus points if you thrive in ambiguity, love building trust with customers and turning roadblocks into progress.

Responsibilities
  • Support customer implementation projects from discovery through launch/go-live
  • Coordinate kickoff meetings, agendas, training schedules, onboarding communications, and follow‑ups
  • Manage implementation project plans, deliverables, and customer readiness milestones
  • Help review and optimize implementation processes to ensure consistency and customer readiness
  • Document customer and partner workflows and support configuration/setup needs
  • Work with internal teams to design technical solutions to meet client requirements and explain technical implications
  • Build and maintain training materials including user guides, Knowledge Base articles, and training documentation
  • Lead and deliver initial customer training to support go‑live readiness
  • Facilitate live training sessions and track training completion to drive customer adoption and proficiency
  • Track and report on implementation progress, risks, and implementation feedback
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to remove blockers and improve internal and external implementation processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1–3 years in implementation, onboarding, project coordination, or operations
  • Strong project management skills (Asana/Airtable/Excel preferred)
  • Work experience in social impact, tech start‑ups, workforce development, or SaaS a plus
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to design, build process documentation, and create knowledge content/materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Creative thinker with a passion for improving user experience
  • Excellent collaborator with a service‑first mindset
  • Ability to present technology and software workflows to audiences with varying technical understanding
