We are seeking a highly technical Data Platform Support Engineer to provide dedicated production support for our data ingestion and storage ecosystem. This role is critical for reducing the support burden currently placed on developers, enabling the team to focus on strategic platform enhancements.
This is a long term contract that is hybrid 3 days onsite per week in Downtown Chicago
Key Responsibilities- Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 production support for data ingestion pipelines and Data Lake storage systems.
- Troubleshoot issues across SQL engines, Kafka streaming, Kubernetes workloads, and logging/monitoring layers.
- Interface closely with the testing team to collaborate on debugging and issue resolution.
- Participate in incident bridges, log analysis, and real-time remediation efforts.
- Optimize query performance, analyze failed jobs, and investigate data quality inconsistencies.
1. SQL Expertise
- Preferred: Experience with Starburst/Trino, Presto, or Athena.
2. Kafka
4. Splunk - Ability to query logs using SPL.
5. Hashi Corp Vault - Practical experience with secrets management.
