Position Summary
The AI Senior Data Analyst supports advanced analytics and AI initiatives by preparing, analyzing, and optimizing data used for machine learning and predictive modeling. This role partners closely with the AI team to ensure high quality, well‑structured datasets that enable effective model development, training, and monitoring. In addition to deep SQL and reporting expertise, the Senior Data Analyst contributes to automation, data‑engineering workflows, and data governance practices essential to AI‑driven strategic insights.
EssentialFunctions
- Respond to data and product‑related inquiries in real time to support business and technical teams.
- Provide expertise and translate the business needs into design; develop tools, techniques, and metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.
- Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on data quality.
- Responsible for establishing appreciation and adherence to the principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
- Provide support to Tech teams in managing security mechanisms and data access governance.
- Develop an understanding of the health insurance world in different areas of the business such as claims, eligibility, customer service, and stop loss.
- Perform analyses of varied healthcare data to evaluate programs and product solutions using medical, dental, flex, pharmacy, lab, provider, and utilization data.
- Work closely with stakeholders to create dashboards and reports.
- Design and code efficiently using SQL and other data reporting languages.
- Help create and test SQL statements for data presentation and further automation.
- Set up and monitor routine maintenance SQL jobs and develop/maintain an alert strategy for failed jobs and database problems and/or failures.
- Data modeling, including an understanding of all normalized forms, design and development of stored procedures, views and triggers.
- Manage daily/monthly data and reporting processes automated through SQL Server Agent.
- Create reports using a variety of tools and formats such as Excel, Power BI, PDFs, .txt files, etc.
- Adhere to, and apply all applicable privacy and security laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, HITECH and any regulations promulgated thereto.
- Collaborate closely with the AI/ML team to prepare, structure, and optimize datasets for machine learning model development, validation, and deployment.
- Perform data cleansing, normalization, feature extraction, and feature engineering to support advanced analytics and predictive modeling initiatives.
- Assess data readiness for AI use cases and identify gaps, data quality issues, and preprocessing requirements.
- Build repeatable data preparation pipelines and automate workflows that feed AI/ML modeling environments.
- Partner with data scientists to translate model data requirements into SQL queries, pipelines, and datasets optimized for training and inference.
- Support the monitoring of deployed AI models through troubleshooting data inputs, identifying drift, and ensuring data integrity across model lifecycle stages.
- Document AI related data processes, data dictionaries, and model input specifications to ensure consistency and traceability.
- Assist in integrating analytical datasets with AI platforms such as Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, or other internal modeling frameworks.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines that interface between SQL Server environments and AI environments.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of AI analytics infrastructure and best practices for data governance related to AI workloads.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required with a focus in Computer Science, Math, Statistics desirable or equivalent work experience required.
- 4 to 5 years of data analyst experience required. Health care experience preferred.
- 4 to 5 years’ experience with MS SQL Server required.
- Experience with SQL Server Development, creating and modifying complex stored procedures.
