Position: Solution Architect (m/f/d)

Shopware is a leading open commerce platform designed to empower merchants to build flexible, scalable, and future‑ready digital commerce experiences. We work closely with merchants, agencies, and technology partners to deliver sophisticated e‑commerce solutions for ambitious brands.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to design, guide, and validate scalable e‑commerce solutions for mid‑market and enterprise customers. This role sits at the intersection of business requirements and technical execution, partnering closely with Sales, Customer Success, and implementation partners to ensure successful, future‑proof solutions and timely customer launches.

As a Solution Architect, you will own solution design from pre‑sales through early site launch, translating complex business needs into clear technical architectures while ensuring alignment with platform capabilities, best practices, and partner delivery models.

Key tasks
  • Solution Design & Architecture
    • Lead in‑depth technical discovery sessions to understand customer business models, requirements, constraints, and success criteria.
    • Design end‑to‑end e‑commerce architectures, including core platform configuration, integrations, custom extensions, and third‑party technologies.
    • Define architectural patterns, data flows, and integration strategies aligned with best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
    • Evaluate trade‑offs between custom development and out‑of‑the‑box capabilities.
  • Implementation Support
    • Act as the primary technical advisor in the implementation process, supporting partners with development, integrations, and launches.
    • Collaborate with Sales on deal strategy, scope definition, effort estimation, and risk assessment.
    • Clearly communicate technical concepts, assumptions, and constraints to both technical and executive stakeholders.
    • Support proof‑of‑concepts and technical validations when required.
  • Partner & Delivery Collaboration
    • Work closely with agency and SI partners to validate delivery approaches and ensure architectural alignment.
    • Review partner solution designs and implementation plans to ensure adherence to platform best practices.
    • Support onboarding and early delivery phases to ensure smooth customer launches.
    • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the project lifecycle.
  • Platform & Ecosystem Expertise
    • Maintain deep knowledge of the e‑commerce platform, roadmap, and ecosystem technologies.
    • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving architectural patterns.
    • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer and partner insights.
  • Key Performance Indicators – Successful customer launches, quality and scalability of solution designs, customer and partner satisfaction during and after launch, and reduction of technical risk and rework during implementation.
What you’ll bring to the table
  • 7+ years of experience in e‑commerce architecture, solutions consulting, or a similar technical role.
  • Deep understanding of modern e‑commerce architectures and integration patterns.
  • Experience designing solutions involving payments, ERP, PIM, CMS, search, and marketing technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills across sales, delivery, and partner teams.
  • Even better if you have:
    • Experience with leading e‑commerce platforms.
    • Prior experience working in a partner‑led or agency‑driven delivery ecosystem.
    • Experience supporting enterprise or upper mid‑market customers.
What we offer you
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Fully remote role (EST/CST preferred) within United States.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with employer match.
  • 25 days PTO + paid holidays.
  • High‑impact role shaping customer success and platform adoption.
  • And much more!
