Data Migration Analyst – Long‑Term Contract starting March 1, 2026 in Chicago, IL. 8–10 + years of data engineering experience, specifically with Oracle ODS, Banner SIS, and Microsoft Fabric, is required.
OverviewWe are seeking a Data Engineering Lead to drive the migration of enterprise data pipelines and data storage from Oracle ODS to Microsoft Fabric.
Key Responsibilities- Lead modernization and migration of Oracle ODS/ODI workloads (part of Ellucian Banner ODS) into Microsoft Fabric (One Lake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse).
- Redesign ETL/ELT processes and data models for Fabric‑native architecture.
- Analyze integrations and data flows from Ellucian Banner SIS and Banner ODS to Fabric.
- Manage offshore data engineers deliverables, set standards, and ensure delivery quality.
- Partner with functional and technical teams to support reporting and analytics continuity.
- 8–10 + years of data engineering experience, including cloud migrations.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of Oracle ODS, ODI, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Expertise with Banner SIS and Banner ODS (must‑have).
- Experience with commonly used reporting tools to query the ODS/EDW.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data services, Power BI and modern data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL architecture.
- Experienced in managing offshore resources and delivering projects in an offshore model.
- Higher education technology background.
- Experience with Power BI, CI/CD (Azure Dev Ops/Git Hub), and governance frameworks.
