Lead DevOps Engineer

In accordance with client requirements, candidates must be eligible and willing to work on a W2 basis.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Dev Ops Engineer to define, lead, and scale Dev Sec Ops  practices across a large, complex enterprise technology environment. Dev Ops is a journey—not a destination—and this role will play a key leadership function in establishing vision, governance, and standards for modern software delivery.

This is a strategic leadership role. While deep technical expertise is required, the Lead Dev Ops Engineer will focus primarily on providing direction, frameworks, and best practices rather than day-to-day hands-on implementation. The role partners closely with delivery teams, architecture, security, and multiple Centers of Excellence (e.g., Cloud, AI/ML) to enable consistent, secure, and scalable Dev Sec Ops  adoption.

• Define and lead the enterprise Dev Sec Ops  vision, roadmap, and governance model
• Establish standards, frameworks, and policies for CI/CD, automation, security, and cloud deployments
• Drive strategic initiatives such as source control and ALM tool migrations
• Guide readiness and risk assessments prior to platform or tooling implementations
• Evangelize Dev Sec Ops  principles across Agile delivery teams and Centers of Excellence
• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable CI/CD pipelines
• Enable automated deployment of applications and infrastructure to cloud environments
• Promote infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvements
• Define and track metrics and dashboards to measure Dev Sec Ops  adoption and maturity

• Embed “shift-left” security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Integrate SAST, code quality, and cloud security tools into CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure compliance with performance, security, availability, and recoverability standards
• Proactively identify system and process risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Provide monitoring and observability recommendations
• Partner with development, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to delivery teams and junior engineers
• Contribute to architecture and technology control discussions
• Support Agile teams with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) configuration and enablement
• Participate in technology evaluations, vendor selection, and roadmap planning

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science or related field preferred)
• 7+ years of senior Dev Ops and software engineering experience
• 7+ years working in Agile/SCRUM environments
• Strong cloud engineering experience, primarily with AWS
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines

• Security & quality tools:
  Checkmarx, Sonar Qube, Prisma Cloud
• Programming & scripting:
  Python, Power Shell, Bash (required)
• Build & artifact tools:
  Artifactory, MSBuild, Nu Get
• Git Hub Copilot configuration and pair programming experience

• Strong understanding of Dev Sec Ops , Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to define, document, and explain standards, processes, and architecture
• Proven experience mentoring teams and influencing across organizations
